ntl:Telewest Business, the supplier of communications services to the public and private sectors, has been selected by the Birmingham-based Illegal Money Lending team to provide a new and confidential hotline number to report loan sharks. The government-funded team works in partnership with local Trading Standards Services not only for the West Midlands but acts as a centre of excellence for much of England, covering the north-west, south east, and east, as well as Yorkshire and Humberside.

AccuRead, part of the G4S Group, the UK’s largest multi-utility metering services company, has opened a new head office at Cobalt Business Park in Newcastle-upon–Tyne using advanced communications services from ntl:Telewest Business. Admiral Group, the motor insurance specialist, is using the ntl:Telewest Business next generation network (NGN) to power communications links to a new contact centre in Newport, south Wales, as part of an operational expansion. ntl:Telewest Business, part of the Virgin Media group, has installed high-speed 50 Megabits-persecond (Mbps) National Ethernet circuits linking the Newport facility to its other sites in Cardiff and Swansea in a network design that delivers optimum resiliency.
