ntl:Telewest Business appoints Mark Heraghty to spearhead growth
Mark Heraghty has been appointed managing director of ntl:Telewest Business, with a brief to drive forward the company’s development as a next generation business telecoms provider in the UK. He is a senior telecoms executive who was previously CEO UK and Europe for Cable and Wireless and joins ntl:Telewest Business from Reliance Globalcom, where he was President EMEA, with responsibility for the former FLAG Telecom and Vanco businesses that Reliance acquired in 2004 and 2008.

Inverclyde Council deploys IP telephony to offer flexible working practices across more than 100 sites
Inverclyde Council has successfully deployed the first phase of an IP Telephony platform across all of its sites with ntl:Telewest Business, part of the Virgin Media group. Once completed, the new system, which has been rolled out to the area’s schools, nurseries, leisure centres, council administration buildings and social workers, will improve communication between the council’s 5,000 staff and its citizens. It will also provide members of staff with the flexibility to work from any of the council’s offices.

ntl:Telewest Business helps power patient care at London’s first purpose-built polyclinic
High-speed telecoms from ntl:Telewest Business, part of the Virgin Media group, will be used to help power patient care at the Redbridge NHS Redbridge Loxford Polyclinic in east London. The facility, the first of its kind in the capital, will use a high-speed network to share patient and operational information, and IP telephony to maintain cost-effective communication.
