Business offers a complete range of Network & Data Services,
available either individually or in combination, enabling you to
incorporate the advantages of our experience and high specification
network within your own product offerings.
All our network and data products and services
can be tailored to your specific needs. The deep fibre
penetration and technical diversity of our national
network enables us to be extremely flexible in assembling
bespoke solutions across multiple technologies and
platforms. Our dedicated account team offer an
equally flexible approach to technical and commercial
opportunities, while our experienced pre-sales consultants
ensure accuracy in capturing customer requirements and assembling
appropriate custom built solutions. All bespoke Service
Provider solutions are available with tailored management and
support packages.
Ethernet Solutions
With a usage rather than distance based pricing structure,
massive capacity and a technically advanced network with nationwide
reach, we can enable you to take maximum advantage of the ever
increasing demand for reliable, low cost, data services.
Ethernet Solutions provide a simple and more
cost effective way to connect geographically separated Local Area
Networks, with the same speed, convenience, reliability and low
cost as if they were located at the same site.
High speed capacity coupled with sustainable
cost, enables effective real-time collaboration between different
parts of organisations, fast transmission of data, deployment of
distributed applications throughout the organisation and fast easy
access to data from any location.
Ethernet Extensions Plus
Here at ntl:Telewest Business, we’ve been delivering Ethernet
Extensions to wholesale and business customers for over ten years
now and have installed over 11,000 circuits. The next generation of
Ethernet Extension, Ethernet Extension Plus is a new service is
packed with enhancements that include up to 7 Classes of Service,
rate limiting and optional web-based performance management
reporting.
Ethernet Extensions Plus is available nationally between sites
that are up to 35km apart at 10/100Mbit/s and 1Gbit/s. The
service is robust and inherently secure because it’s delivered over
a dedicated fibre pair. Here’s just a few of the key features:
- Cost effective - whether you need multiple circuits or a single
connection, the service can be substantially more cost effective
than alternative solutions, such as Leased Lines, particularly if
large volumes of information is being moved between sites.
- Predictable budgeting - rental charges are fixed and detailed
in advance to enable easier and predictable budgeting.
- Seamless & responsive - providing high availability and
grade of service regardless of location.
Dedicated Capacity (Wavelength)
Dedicated capacity (1Gb and upwards) is
available throughout the UK and Ireland. Service can be
provided either on an ntl:Telewest
POP
to POP basis or as a bespoke solution connecting
customer sites. Interconnection with you is based on standard
shorthaul optics. 1Gb, 2.5Gb and 10Gb wavelengths are
available, either protected or unprotected.
Leased Lines and Carrier Private Circuits
We offer a choice of best-in-class
technologies for transmitting large volumes of data between remote
business sites either solely through its own network (Leased
Lines
) or utilising a combination of our own and third
party networks (Carrier Private Circuits). Operating over our
core fibre network, you'll benefit from industry leading
reliability at a highly competitive price.
Leased Lines are available protected or
unprotected at the following speeds:
- STM16
- STM4 and STM4(c)
- STM1 optical or electrical
- Speeds from 34/45Mbs to 2Mbs
Carrier Private Circuits can be provided
protected or unprotected and operate over both the
ntl:Telewest Business network and BT PPCs. Download our

Dark Fibre and Co-Location
Dark fibre is available throughout the
national network, subject to availability.
G652 specification fibre is available
throughout the network with some G655 Corning Leaf specification
available on some routes. Service is available with or without
connection to your network or individual sites.
Dark fibre and co-location services are, by
their nature, bespoke services and should be discussed with your
account manager. Both can be provided with supporting
maintenance services.
