08/05/07. ntl:Telewest Business, part of the Virgin Media Group, today announced the completion of a major investment programme that means it now has the fastest business communications network in the UK. All 300 key points in the ntl:Telewest Business next-generation network have been enhanced across the country.

Businesses nation-wide can now gain faster and higher capacity communications by using the ntl:Telewest Business network. The next-generation infrastructure, built specifically for advanced digital communications, also supports modern working practices such as personnel mobility, CCTV, remote working and integrated communications tools that even extend to desk-to-desk videoconferencing.

ntl:Telewest Business has invested £13 billion in its communications network, which has been designed and built for the digital age in which businesses are demanding faster services. An initial 17 areas are announced as live today: Birmingham, the Black Country, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Gloucestershire, Kent, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Northern Ireland, Plymouth, Preston and Sheffield. The remaining areas will be confirmed over the coming two months.
