solicitors

31 May, 2007. ntl:Telewest Business, the
supplier of communications services to the public and private
sectors, is enabling Miller Hendry Solicitors & Estate Agents
to further improve its client service by increasing the
accessibility and availability of solicitors. A fast, modern and
secure communications infrastructure is being delivered to connect
the company’s eight offices in the east of Scotland, bringing new
technologies that can reduce communications overheads, simplify the
sharing of information and free up time for personnel.
ntl:Telewest Business is rolling out its IP
Multimedia service to all 140 solicitors and support staff,
enabling them to increase client-facing time and reduce travel,
particularly between the firm’s offices. IP Multimedia is a suite
of communications tools that make it easy to determine whether
colleagues are available through online presence information,
enabling questions to be answered more quickly, group dialogue to
be undertaken faster and meetings to be conducted online rather
than in person.
IP Multimedia, which combines telephony with
instant messaging, video calling, phone directories and presence
indicators, will be run over a bespoke network that ntl:Telewest
Business is building to connect each of Miller Hendry’s eight
offices in the Tayside area. The services will reduce the company’s
telephony costs and provide a flexible means of supporting future
expansion.
Miller Hendry was founded in 1723 and is one
of the largest solicitors firms on Tayside.
Ernest Boath, Partner, Miller Hendry, said:
“Our senior partners can spend one or two days a month on the road
travelling back and forth between our offices in Perth and Dundee.
This new communications package is a real leap forward. It will
enable us to both increase the amount of time spent working with
our clients while reducing the time we spend travelling. The side
benefit is that it can reduce our overheads too.”
Lee Hull, Head of Business Services for
ntl:Telewest Business in Scotland, said: “Running IP
Multimedia over a brand new network will enable Miller Hendry to
take its communication to another level. It provides a clear route
to increasing the accessibility and availability of solicitors.
These types of fundamental enhancements to the way companies
communicate demonstrate that our customers’ business goals are the
core of our business.”
