Stephen Beynon was appointed MD of the Business Division
of Telewest Broadband in March 2005. He joined Telewest from Band-X
Ltd where he had been CEO since December 2000. His responsibilities
at ntl:Telewest Business include the leadership of sales,
marketing, product management and customer operations in the UK
business market.
Stephen has gained a wealth of
experience in the telecommunications sector over the course of the
last 17 years. He started his career at Mercury Communications, as
Pricing Strategy Manager and later headed strategic planning for
Mercury prior to its transition into Cable & Wireless
Communications. In 1994 he became Director of International Partner
Services in the Mercury/C&W wholesale business until 1998 when
he left the UK to become Director of Industry Services at Optus in
Australia.
Whilst at Optus he was responsible for
the fixed line and GSM wholesale operations. Later, as Director of
Network Services he was responsible for all fixed line products and
in September 1999 he became Managing Director for the Business
Division of Optus. In December 2000 he left Optus to become CEO of
Band-X Ltd, a provider of switching and managed services to the
telecommunications industry.
